Abstract

A novel kind of problems of nonlinear soliton dynamics, which bears close analogy to tunneling and trapping effects in quantum and relativistic mechanics, is considered. We have shown that the properties of a wide class of soliton systems are the nonlinear tunneling or trapping processes both in time or spatial domain as in spectral domain.
