Abstract

Microchip solid-state ring lasers (SSRL) with semiconductor pump have stirred considerable interest lately in terms of gyroscopy applications. The present paper deals with theoretical and experimental study on fluctuation characteristics of a SSRL on Nd:YAG with a non-plane cavity, operating in the self-modulation regime of antiphase quasisinusoidal oscillations of the counterrunning waves intensities. The experimental investigations sought to determine the influence of such laser parameters as pump power, phase nonreciprocity of the cavity , the crystal temperature.
