Light Amplification and Electron Beam Modulation in Stimulated Surface Cherenkov Process

Abstract

The amplification of weak electromagnetic wave in the surface Cherenkov process when strongly magnetised electron beam (one dimensional process) propagates above a dielectric waveguides is thoroughly investigated by J. E. Walsh and co-authors (see e. g. [1]). Lately a new fundamentally incorrect conception has been developed [2,3] proving that both amplification and all other stimulated phenomena for unmagnetised electron beam propagating in vacuum cannot take place.
