Abstract

We present a calculation of the oscillation frequencies of ions confined in a combined trap, which combines the static electric and magnetic fields of a Penning trap with the oscillating electric field of a radiofrequency trap [1,2]. The calculation takes into account a possible misalignment of the magnetic field direction with respect to the symmetry axis of the trap.
