Abstract

In this paper we will present the analogies and discrepancies of two different reduction schemes for class-B laser equations. These schemes are based on the theories of center manifold (CMT) and linear filters (LFT), respectively, and they have been tested on a model representing the (regular and chaotic) dynamics of the CO2 laser.
