Abstract
We extend the noiseless signal amplification scheme recently proposed and demonstrated by Lam et al. [1] to include an independent, noiseless power amplification component. The composite amplification system is shown in Fig. 1. The input of this system undergoes signal amplification by a factor given by that of the feedforward loop and power amplification by a factor determined by the power ratios of the input field and the power of the slave laser. The maximum signal transfer coefficient, TS=SNRout/SNRin, is limited by the efficiency of the in-loop photodetector.
