Abstract

The Transverse Optical Klystron (TOK) has been described by many authors1. An important recent development is the proposal to use the TOK to generate radiation from the vacuum ultra-violet to the soft X-rays2,3. In this paper, a new and improved method to generate intense coherent radiation of short wavelength is described.
