Evolutionary Optimization of Nondiffracting Helicon Beams

We optimized helicon-like beams in a high resolution imaging sytem with an evolutionary algorithm, achieving a tight intensity profile while largely maintaining self-rotation and nondiffraction. The method promises wide applicability in beam design.
