Transfer Function Optimization for a Nonlinear-optical Loop Mirror (NOLM)-based Optical Reservoir

Abstract

We investigate a nonlinear-optical loop mirror-based reservoir computing with real, imaginary and absolute-value mappings. The lowest mean-square error of 2.849×10−10 is achieved for time prediction task when the optimized coupling-ratio of 0.76.
