Abstract

An optical receiver with high gain bandwidth (~6e7 MHz) has been designed and fabricated to detect extremely weak (sub-nW) anti-Stokes backscattered light, which allows the use of relatively low power semiconductor lasers for distributed temperature sensing applications.
