Nonlinear Properties of Hybrid ZnTe-on-Si Waveguides for Telecommunication Applications

Abstract

A novel ZnTe-on-Si waveguide system is presented and demonstrates a reduced TPA coefficient compared to pure silicon with a comparable nonlinear Kerr refractive index to achieve a significantly higher nonlinear FOMTPA for efficient nonlinear applications.
