Abstract

Luminescence produced during mechanical deformation of solids is known as mechancluminescence (ML) or triboluminescence. A large variety of organic and inorganic compounds exhibit the phenomenon of ML [1-3]. The present paper reports the mechanism of ML excitation in II-VI semiconductors.
