Concentration Quenching in Nd-Doped Glasses

Abstract

We have measured Nd fluorescence lifetimes versus Nd concentration (ρNd) in a large variety of pure, water-free glasses. The Nd self-quenching rate varies as ρNdn where 1<n<3.3, its value depending on glass structure.
