Abstract
Recently we reported a monolithic 1 × 12 array of long-wavelength (0.95–1.65-μm) PIN photodiodes with convenient electrical and optical interconnects.1 One aspect of arrays which makes them different from discrete devices is the possibility of undesirable coupling between channels leading to sensitivity penalties when used in receiver applications. In this work we analyze both theoretically and experimentally the effects of electrical crosstalk on receiver performance.
