Abstract

The optical system of the spectral-calibration facility of an optical remote sensor is composed of a grating monochromator and an assistant collimator. If the optical system meet the following two requirements, an accurate spectral responsive function of the tested system can be obtained: first, a collimated beam fills up the aperture of the tested instrument; secondly, the real image formed by the exit slit of the monochrometer covers the whole field stop of the tested instrument1. For most of the optical remote sensor with large aperture and large field of view, the optical system of the calibration facility can not meet both of the requirements simultaneously, because the grating monochromator can work only with a small exit aperture angle. A deviation may be induced because the test proceeds under the condition of meeting one of the requirements only.
