Abstract

Since we proposed the Single-Boundary (SB) saveguide¹ to direct and guide an optical beam confined in a planar thin-film waveguide, we have continued theoretical and experimental work ^2,3 to find the characteristics and further applications of this type of waveguide. Recent experiments and some possible applications of curved-surface waveguides will be presented.
