A CCD System to Detect Fast-Moving Asteroids

Abstract

A rendezvous by a space probe with an asteroid will allow the composition of the asteroid to be studied in great detail. Since some "asteroids" are the cores of extinct comets, such spacecraft will also permit the properties of these mysterious objects to be clarified.
