Computer-aided analysis of semiconductor lasers-MINILASE

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Stimulated by recent developments in optical communication technology, we have developed a versatile two-dimensional simulator for various types of semiconductor lasers for both steady state and transients. The simulator, called MINILASE, is capable of spectral analysis of single and multiple quantum-well lasers and also analyzes the internal two-dimensional temperature distribution as well as current flow and optical intensity patterns.
