Compact and Fabrication Tolerant Silicon Strip-Slot Waveguide Mode Converter

Abstract

A silicon strip-slot waveguide mode converter with large fabrication tolerances is demonstrated. The structure provides efficient strip-slot waveguide coupling over wavelength range of 1300-1700 nm with an average insertion loss of 0.24 dB.
