Plasma-Phonon Interaction in the Ultrashort Time Domain

Abstract

Time-Resolved Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering (TR-CARS) has been used to study the dynamics of the interaction of longitudinal optical (LO) phonons with a 2-component (electron-phonon) plasma. The coherent phonons are produced through coherent phonon excitation, and the plasma through two-photon absorption (TPA).
