Abstract
Optical solitons[1] are not only of fundamental interest but also have the potential application in optical fiber communications. Their propagation equation is the nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE) if the fiber loss is ignored. So-called fundamental soliton is a hyperbolic-secant pulse, and its pulse width is about a few picosecond or less.
