Relaxation oscillation of an injection locked DFB 1,5 µm diode laser is systematically studied. A numerical simulation fits experimental results and leads to exact simple interpretations of the behavior of the injection locked slave diode laser. Two accurate methods of measuring the Henry a factor[1] directly result from this analysis and are presented.
