Abstract

Four-wave mixing systems utilizing the Brillouin nonlinearity under conditions of an absolute instability are attracting the attention of researches primarily because of the possible amplification of weak signals in the course of phase conjugation.[1-5] The wave mismatch of the interacting waves must be optimized to maximize the gains.
