Abstract

The interaction of surface plasmons on the current of a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) is a question of fundamental interest. Due to the strongly increased surface plasmon near-field the tunneling current should be influenced. Thus, local information on the plasmon-induced field enhancement can be obtained.
