Abstract

Phase distortions of highly pumped solid state laser rods, as e.g. thermal lensing, can be compensated by applying phaseconjugating mirrors (PCMs).[1] Besides double- or multipass amplifiers (MOPAs) with PCMs, laser oscillators with the high reflecting mirror replaced by a PCM were investigated.[2,3] An average output power of 10 Watts for the Q-switched pulses with almost perfect beam profile was reported.[4]
