Abstract

Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) of laser radiation in liquids or gases is applied for building phase conjugating mirrors in high power laser systems. The simple selfpumped backscattering mechanism and the phase conjugating properties make them useful for compensating phase distortions.[1]
