Abstract
KNbO3 is a ferroelectric crystal with perovskite structure which shows very large nonlinear optical susceptibilities. At room temperature it has orthorhombic mm2 symmetry with a ferroelectric polarization along the 2 fold c-axis. Its electro-optic and photoconductive properties make the material favourable for photorefractive applications.[1]
