Abstract

To gain large output power concentrated in a single-lobed far field pattern from a semiconductor laser (SCL) array it is necessary to achieve in-phase synchronization between individual lasing elements. To this end, we analyze the possibilities of synchronization offered by a delayed global coupling via an external mirror by studying a set of coupled single-mode Lang-Kobayashi equations.
