Abstract

Three-level atomic systems with a Λ-configuration of energy levels plays an important role in modern laser and atomic physics This model is a basis for a description of a large number of resonance nonlinear phenomena, such as CPT, EIT, laser without inversion, enhanced refraction index, laser cooling, etc In most experiments Λ-resonances are observed in a gas with Doppler broadening, while the majority of the theoretical works deals with the case of homogeneous broadening
