Abstract
Recently, the techniques related to DVD have been developed rapidly. Among these, several techniques[1] are proposed for achieving CD compatible DVD pickup. To reduce aberration, mainly coma, the thickness of the DVD was chosen as 0.6mm which is different from a CD. The thickness difference makes it difficult for the optical pickup which is optimized for the DVD disc, to be compatible with the CD.
