Abstract

Recently, many kinds of technologies for high density recording have been reported in the field of magneto-optical (MO) recording. Magnetically induced super resolution (MSR) is one of the most hopeful candidates, and over ten MSR types have been proposed already. However, the MSR technology is not discussed well from a view point of the total recording technology including the recording and readout method, the pick-up technology and the signal processing technology. It seems obvious that higher density recording can be realized by a better combination of related technologies.
