Generation of sub 30 ps microjoule level pulses from a free-running Nd:YVO4 laser

Abstract

We report 7 µJ, 27 ps pulse duration obtained from free running of an end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. This mode of operation can be realized in a simple two-mirror linear resonator including only the Nd-laser crystal.
