Abstract

The human electroretinogram (ERG) and visually evoked (cortical) response (VER) have been examined with full field spectrally selective (chromatic) flashes on a steady yellow adapting full-field. The flash frequency is 3 Hz and many responses to the same flash are averaged to enhance the signal to noise ratio. The ERG is detected with a bipolar contact lens, which contacts the cornea with one lead and the adjacent conjunctiva with the other. The VER is recorded between the center of the forehead and the inion. The latter lead also detects the ERG but at a lower amplitude than that detectable at the cornea.
