Abstract

Amsler grid testing is commonly used for evaluating the central ten degrees of visual field (1). This test is particularly important for monitoring patients with senile macular degeneration for the earliest possible sign of neovascular growth. Patients viewing this grid may report abnormalities representing metamorphopsia, scotomas, and depressions of the central field.
