Abstract

A systematic analysis for chaotic behaviour in a popular LSA theoretical model has been carried out. A crucial parameter is the relative saturability of the absorber. We find that theoretical parameter values disagree with those usually believed to be attainable in real experiments. We also propose a new mechanism for the emergence of chaotic signals in this theoretical model and study the influence of spontaneous emission noise.
