Observation of Optical Soliton Switching in an All-Fibre Nonlinear Sagnac Interferometer

Abstract

In this paper we describe an application for optical solitons in a configuration which can permit switching and logic operations on entire ultrashort pulses. The following is, we believe, the first experimental observation of the recently proposed soliton switching effect [1],[2].
