Abstract

Making use of MgO:LiNbO3/LiTaO3, we experimented 0.83 μm-0.415μm SHG by optical waveguide-type SHG devices in which the phase-matching condition is satisfied by using mode dispersion of thin film. 13% conversion can be achieved when input power is 40 mW.

In the new coupled optical waveguide-type SHG device, which is proposed, the phase matching condition is satisfied by using coupled mode dispersion of coupled optical slab waveguide. According to the theoretical analysis, the coupled optical waveguide-type, the materials of the device have more feasibility. Further, the phase-matching can be done easily.
