Intensity Modulated Direct Detection Data Transmission over 100km of Optical Fiber using a Microresonator Kerr Frequency Comb Source

Abstract

We demonstrate microresonator frequency comb-based transmission of intensity- modulated-direct-detection data over 100km of fiber, at 30Gbps data rate in a single comb line. This represents the longest fiber reach demonstrated using Kerr frequency combs to date.
