Abstract

The analytic pulse technique is a new approach to incorporating laser pulses in laser-plasma simulations. In particle-in-cell simulations, this technique allows direct evaluation of the paraxial approximation, reduced-dimensionality simulation, and lower-cost modeling of novel pulses.
