An Underwater Microscope for In Situ Imaging of Seafloor Organism

Abstract

An underwater microscopic imaging system was developed to observe live threedimensional subjects, such as reef building corals, in the ocean at nearly micrometer resolution. We describe the instrument’s optical design and in situ application.
