Monolithic Silicon Photonic Integrated Circuits for Compact Coherent Transponders

Abstract

Silicon photonics is well suited for dual-polarization I/Q modulators and coherent receivers due to high index contrast of silicon waveguides. Here we review recent advances of silicon photonic circuits for future optical coherent transmission systems.
