Abstract

10 GHz spaced 100 channel signals are simultaneously amplified by an Er3+ -doped fiber amplifier with a net gain of 11~30 dB depending on input power. Bit error rate measurements show that the power penalty characteristic for 100-channel amplification is same as for one-channel amplification.
