Abstract

The coherent mode expansion1 of the cross-spectral density of a Bessel-correlated primary spherical source is presented. Explicit expressions for the coherent mode eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are obtained. The dependence of the eigenvalues on the correlation length of the source is analyzed. The corresponding coherent mode expansion of the cross-spectral density of the field generated by this source is also investigated.
