Abstract
When a point source radiates wavefronts which traverse a turbulent atmosphere, the received wavefronts will contain aberrations which vary in time. In addition, if several point sources radiate in an array configuration, the resulting wavefronts will contain optical path differences. As a result, the phase profiles incident on an unobscured collecting aperture will be distorted in a time-varying pattern.
