Abstract

The subject of nonradiating sources has become of considerable interest in recent years in connection with questions of uniqueness of solutions to various inverse problems.1−3 We present a new theorem from which a number of previously known results regarding nonradiating sources readily follow. General expressions are also given for the field within a nonradiating spherically symmetric source and curves are presented which show the behavior of the field in several nonradiating sources of this kind.
