Abstract

In the course of our work, a problem was posed, namely, to evaluate the radiometric properties of an optical system consisting of a light source, two closely spaced Ronchi rulings, and a detector. The particular application was a glass scale that had a moving Vernier. A moire is formed between the rulings, and the motion of the Vernier causes a modulation of radiometric throughput.
