Four-wave mixing measurements in cerium-doped SBN:60

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

There has recently been interest in the use of SBN crystals for a variety of optical computing applications which utilize phase-conjugate signals arising from four-wave mixing (FWM). The large photorefractive effect exhibited by these crystals allows them to be used for nonlinear optical processing and volume holography with readily accessible optical powers. To assist In development of SBN-based commercial and military devices for these optical processing uses, we mapped out a number of the characteristics of phase-conjugation processes in cerium-doped SBN:60.
