Large lightweight mirror for IR simulation

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Martin Marietta has designed and built a large-aperture large-field-of-view (FOV) dynamic thermal scene computer-controlled projector for testing infrared seekers. To achieve acceptable performance, an optical system was designed which features a 32-in. diam f/3.8 spherical mirror.
