Abstract

The finite element code PAFEC1 and the wavefront analysis program (WAP)2 were used in the design of complex electrooptical systems. The primary optical aberrations induced by mounting solid, honeycomb, and triangular celled optical elements are described. For example, we describe the effects on a typical optical flat for the purpose of demonstrating the methods of analysis. The cases of full circumferential, sinusoidal, and three-point support were studied.
