Laser spectroscopy of alkaline earth-containing free radicals

Abstract

The A˜2ΠX˜2Σ+ transition of CaCCH and the corresponding A˜2EX˜2A1 transition of CaCH3 have been rotationally analyzed by high-resolution dye laser spectroscopy. The Ca–C bond lengths were found to be 2.25 Å for CaCCH and 2.35 Å for CaCH3. Rotational analyses of SrSH and CaBH4 are in progress.
